Level 1-2 Sewing Class: No prior sewing experience needed, but some is helpful.

Learn to sew the McKenna tote in this 4.5 hour sewing workshop. Not only will you go home with your very own tote that you made start-to-finish with your own two hands, you will also learn indispensable rugged sewing techniques for the home stitcher.

Sewing with heavy-weight fabrics, hardware attachment with an industrial snap press, pockets, setting in linings, constructing handles, how to use fusible interfacing

Bringing Your Own Liner Fabric?

All students get a 10% off discount at Bolt Fabric Boutique for materials. Please mention you are buying materials for a workshop at Klum House.

Fabric Specifications

1 yard of medium-weight linen, cotton, Japanese cotton, quilting cotton, denim, canvas, hemp/cotton blend or linen/cotton blend fabric. *Yardage based on a standard 45" bolt. If you have a fabric on hand and are not sure whether it will work for the project, please email us and ask!

Please Note: If you are bringing your own liner fabric, we ask that you make arrangements with us to arrive 30-45 minutes early to class to cut your bag liner and fuse the interfacing. Alternately, you may print the pattern + cut your fabric at home. You will be emailed a PDF of the pattern and instructions before the day of class.
