Intro to Garment Sewing: The Willow Simple Linen Tank

This classic, simple tank is the perfect introduction to garment sewing.

In this one-day sewing boot camp (with lots of snacks & coffee breaks), Katie Whittle, a garment sewing teacher & pattern maker with over a decade of experience, you will learn all the sewing basics, from sewing machine set-up, translating sewing patterns, to hemming. No prior sewing experience is needed, and all machines and materials are provided. Go home sporting a tank that you made start-to-finish— with "I made this!" bragging rights.

Skills Learned

Sewing machine anatomy and set-up, reading sewing patterns, cutting and marking patterns, staystitching, sewing darts, installing facings, proper pressing, understitching, and hemming.

Maker Kits & Materials

You may purchase the Willow Tank Maker Kit (+$55), including the Willow Tank by Grainline pattern, 2 yards of Yarn Dyed Linen, 2 yards 1/2" bias tape, and coordinating thread, or bring fabric and thread of your choice & just purchase the pattern from us, retail $16 (your cost $15).
