I purchased the pattern along with the online class. With a few hours of seeing I’m almost half way done before I knew it (I’m tackling two at once for my nephews). Klum House is truly about a great maker experience.

I really enjoyed making this bag. I purchased the materials (waxed canvas, hardware, leather, and tool kit) from Klumhouse. I also purchased the online video. The pattern is easy to follow, but the videos are really helpful, especially since I didn't know how to properly set the rivets and snaps. The best advice I have is to switch to a walking foot when you are sewing the bulkiest parts of the bag. My trusty little (read: nothing fancy!) sewing machine did just fine. I learned a lot and the backpack turned out wonderfully!

I had this dream to sew a backpack with a certain piece of woven pattern. These piece of woven pattern came form Chile and was part of another bag. As I found your pattern I knew that will be the right for my project. I used a dry oilskin canvast in a black color and my beloved woven design. Your instruction book was greatful and everything worked very well. I hope someone in my family want a slabtown too. So I can sew another backpack, just for fun! Thank's a lot for these excellent pattern!

I'm not a fan of this bag. I was excited to put the Slabtown together and start using it at the gym. The directions are fantastic (as always), but the final product was a disappointment. The roll top on my bag just looks sloppy. As an experienced bag maker, the final product wasn't what I expected. My favorite pattern is the Oberlin.
