Slabtown - Sage Custom Bag Maker Kit

The materials included in the kit are high quality and packaged well. The pattern instructions are detailed and easy to follow. My Slabtown backpack turned out amazing and I learned some new techniques along the way. I'm already planning my next one!

I purchased 3 Slabtown kits to make for my 3 adult(ish) children for Christmas (it's our family tradition--they tell me what style, and I make 3 bags). What an amazing pattern (and kit). All the pieces fit together so nicely. The instructions were comprehensive and easy to follow. I have 3 amazing bags and I think my kids will love them.

This is the most complex sewing project I’ve ever done on my home sewing machine. I bought the gray Pendleton version and love the way the fabric is off center, but looks intentional. I followed the video and everything went smoothly, though some of my rivets probably could have been set a little straighter. I purchased the backpack strap felt pads and think they add a nice aesthetic touch as well as a bit of extra comfort. I customized many of the leather parts with hand stamps. There is just so much specialness about this project. Everyone at work was impressed. You can do it! Don’t hesitate.

Appreciate online instructions, but would find having printed instructions 45pages a ➕. Would even pay for printing. Did not take the online class and found directions easy to follow. My greatest challenge was hardware and had to stop assembly because I did not realize I needed correct size snap & rivet setter kit for slabtown plus additional snaps. Fortunately klumhose has exceptionally fast shipping & delivery. Made slabtown bag for my sister as a gift and surely she will be delighted to use on
her adventures for years!

My kids gifted me a Slabtown Backpack kit 2 years ago, and i’ve waited until retirement to work on it uninterrupted.
I did switch the accent fabric to a dark green because I wasn’t real wild about the cream I had chosen with the kit.
I loved having the pieces ready, and the instruction book was clear and concise.
It’s now ready to use next week for a 4 day hike in Joshua Tree National Park!

I am very pleased with my seconds kit. The fabric was in great shape and the leather pieces were also wonderful. I didn't see any blemishes that I concerned me. I had a few pieces that were just a little tiny bit shorter than the pattern length, but they did not cause any problem with me creating a beautiful backpack.

Have previous sewing experience, but this bag definitely stretched my skills (in a great way!) + learning how to set snaps and rivets. Purchased the class video, totally worth it, it was well done, and ensured an enjoyable experience making the bag. I consider myself mid-size and I have the adjustment straps the longest they go to feel comfortable. It might be a little snug when I wear my winter jacket or if someone needed them longer. Otherwise, great experience, can’t wait to hit the trail with it!

This bag was awesome to make and a delight to gift. The Pendleton waxed canvas is really special! My husband was thrilled with it, but has found it a little bit small for everyday use. (For context, he often has a laptop, tablet and several books in his bag.)

My third grader helped make this bag and uses it every day proudly. It is awesome! She can generally fit everything she needs. I wish that there was also a slightly scaled-up version as I made my husband a Slabtown and he needs a little bit more space in a bag.

I just finished the kit and it was a great experience. The videos and instructions were easy to follow. I am so excited to use my bag this weekend for a little over night excursion. Just wow.

This kit was phenomenal! Everything I needed was there. I was a little nervous to start, but everything went smoothly. The instructions are very clear and easy to follow. Have recommended this company to all of my crafty friends.

Love making this bag. Second go round. This time I modified it a little. I added a laptop pocket in the interior on the back panel. made the side pockets much bigger—I found that I couldn’t really fit anything in the pockets as designed. Finally, I made the hidden zipper pocket a few inches bigger to fit an 11 inch journal into. Generally though, klumhouse is the GOAT and has given me so many skills and joy. Thank you!

I absolutely loved my Slabtown - Full Maker Kit (Seconds). I bought the seconds kit to try for the first time making this bag. I was extremely pleased with the quality of the kit. I will definitely be buying full-priced kits to make each of my grandsons their own Slabtown. I have to be perfectly honest......... I have made many Klum House bags. I may be addicted!🤣😉😂 The Naito is the only Klum House bag I have yet to make. I am currently enrolled and participating in the Intermediate Bag Making class (5/23/22 through 7/7/22) and will be making the Naito soon. I highly recommend any and all Klum House products and classes. My recommendation does not come lightly either, as I am a stickler for quality and excellence when making sewing purchases.

The design, even of the tube the materials come in is gorgeous!

I bought a seconds kit expecting to accept some obvious visual flaws, but I haven't detected anything "less than" about it. Maybe some have blatant blemishes, but this one does not. Very happy with it!

I absolutely am enjoying making the Slabtown. Im in the middle of constructing it, so when im finished im sure a final review is to come.

I made this! After making 2 Woodland Dopp Kits, I took a leap to make the Slabtown Backpack. I wanted to make something special for my son’s 40th birthday.
