Leather Tote Bag Straps Kit
All of the leather and hardware you need to add leather straps to any tote bag. This kit includes the same ingredients as our Portsmith Leather + Hardware Kit, but it can be used for any bag at all. Premium leather and strong metal hardware—all you need is a hammer!
KIT CONTENTS
- (2) Hole punched 28" x ¾" leather straps
- (8) Leather reinforcement washers
- (9) Metal double-cap rivets (1 extra!)
- (1) Metal D-ring for attaching keys
- (1) Sew-in “I MADE THIS” label
Our Materials
Waxed Canvas
A densely-woven cotton fabric that's saturated with wax, giving it protection against the elements. It shows scuffs and creases that blend into a weathered patina. *fabric colors vary in weight from 10-12oz
Leather
Sourced from USA tanneries, and hand-selected for quality. Our hides are cut into straps with a hydraulic press to ensure precision and consistency.
Hardware
Hardware takes a bag from looking homemade to professional—and it's not hard to do! Using basic tools, you can set rivets & more. All our hardware is real metal and built to last.

Dark brown color is beautiful, smooth side of the leather feels very nice (not as thick as I was expecting) but I was able to replace my tote bags tattered straps & I'm going to get a lot more wear out of a bag that I would have probably donated. So that makes me very happy!
The hardware is really beautiful & elevates the look, also the addition of the washers to stabilize the hardware is so nice.
Although it is a very nice kit there are a couple of things I would have preferred. Rounded ends on the straps & cleaner along the edges of the straps, the raw part of the leather was shedding like crazy.
